They are as good tonight: Lush 3.1 and Lush 3.2.
When I first heard this album? I thought that I was going to die, litterally (as always) you need to understand that it did not sound like anything else (what about Warp, Ae and AFX? It gets to complicated and in fact it is not exactly the same thing).
Orbital produced extremly well made groundbreaking popular music. Take any track that is popular today and you will find Orbital DNA in there. Mm. I know. It is bizzare.
That is pretty unbelivable in 1993. Like “Impact (The Earth Is Burning)” you will have to put out the lights in my eyes before I say that it is not an excellent track. You will be forced to kill me.
I always loved it. But now it seems unreal. How/what/really and it is so UK. Acid music, drum’n’bass, elctro, house contemporary music.
Mm, I’ve seen Orbital live. They did not dissapoint me. If am not misstaken I still have the poster but it is most likely in the basement somewhere. I’m pretty sure that the year was 1996, I’m not 100% sure. It was some time ago (no, it was 1996).
Damn. Now, I have to dig for the early Ae and AFX stuff (again!) and then the early Funckarma, Beefcake, Passarani and Apparat etc. but then I will end up in the late 1990’s and early 2000’s?
“Halcyon + On + On” is still one of my all time favourite tracks! That is insane…
