In January, China implemented a law which requires schools, including those in Hong Kong, to include “patriotic education” in their curriculum and companies to do the same in their operations. The definition is vague but the curriculum is meant to promote the leadership and ideology of the Chinese Communist Party.
We did nothing, absolutely nothing to help HK. 2 million people aged 5 to 85 years took to the streets, peacefully four years later 600 000 or so of them have been or are being charged/prosecuted/processed as we speak. So forget anything and everything about “Taiwan” – 中華民國 (Zhong hua min guo) which is/was: The Republic of China (ROC).
It is not a question of if, it is a question of when…
Note! The Republic of China and NOT The People’s Republic of China. That is ROC and not PRC.
You got to love the “flag-fans” though, it looks so much better does it not? Attention to detail from the Education Bureau, perhaps? Like: Getting to know the National Flag, National Emblem, National Anthem, Regional Flag and Regional Emblem.
