Reminiscing, a long time ago in a completely different time-set.
– It to be used in emergency only! Never ever use it if it is not an emergency.
– Mm, It’s just a small can with a horn. How much noise can that little can make, really?
– What do you think? I’ll press the button and we’ll see what happens?
– We’re not supposed to do that. It is for emergency only?
– I know. but don’t you want to find out? What kind of noise the little can really make?
– … I do.
I pressed the button and it was and is the loudest (strongest, as always in awe and recognition of Dr Elblaus) sound that I have ever heard in my entire life!
I remember seeing the air in front of the horn being distorted (invection/convection), seeing the air transformed by the sound in it self… The sound was much, much, so much louder than I could ever have imagined. And I remember getting scared and fascinated at the same time.
– Wow! But, do you think anyone heard that? Will we be detected/found out/be in trouble know*?
– It to be used in emergency only! Never ever use it if it is not an emergency.
A was a very long time ago. In the bay around; noon or slightly thereafter… but you still need to try, right?
– Did you or have you ever done that again?
– No, it was just the one time (thus far) in a lifetime. The mighty foghorn.
Dedicated to my dear cousin. I remember, a lot of things…
When we tried the foghorn.
* As far I remember (I might be mistaken) I don’t think that the foghorn incident has ever been commented on. That being said my memory is sometimes faulty as is everyone else’s at times.
