The first release on the American label Record Camp and it’s a good one at that. It’s a four track 12″ by Sky Tucker “Miami Nites” bears some definite bass influences and rolls on with certitude and a dose of glitch. It is followed by “Kronic” with melodies that have gone astray and a healthy beat moving the track along nicely. The flipside features “Baktrak” with a beautiful intro consisting of sprinkled light beats leading on to harder ones without loosing the setting started in the intro. There’s plenty of atmosphere in this track. Last and final track “Lowdnes Pon” offers straight forward beats, warmth a hint of processed vocals and layers of melodies, contrasting each other. It’s simply a beautiful piece of music. It’ll be interesting to see in what direction Record Camp will be moving in the future, and surely their second release will tell that tale.
